What I do

I build websites that small businesses can actually be found through. Not just on Google, but on ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and the growing list of AI search interfaces that an increasing share of your prospects now use.

Most small business websites in 2026 are invisible to AI search. Either they're built on template platforms whose architecture doesn't support the necessary structured data, or they're built by freelancers who haven't yet adjusted their craft to the AI-search era. The gap between what's possible and what's standard practice is substantial.

My work closes that gap, in the same way I close architectural gaps in my day-to-day enterprise work. The discipline is the same. Implementation of the audit findings against your existing site. Adds the technical baseline for AI discoverability without requiring a rebuild.

Best for: small business owners who have a site they're happy with and want it continuously maintained at the AI-discoverability frontier.

How engagements work

Discovery starts with a 30-minute call to understand your business, your current site, and what you're trying to achieve. After the call, you receive a written engagement scope with the deliverables, the timeline, and the fixed price.

If we proceed, a 50% deposit secures the engagement start date. The balance is due on delivery.

I take on two to three active Build or Authority engagements at any time, plus a handful of Audits and Retrofits running in parallel. I don't outsource. The work is delivered by me, directly, end to end.

What I don't do

For clarity:

I don't build e-commerce stores or membership sites. There are better tools and better specialists for those.
I don't do paid acquisition or PPC management.
I don't take on engagements where the client primarily wants a particular visual style replicated. The visual quality of the deliverable will be high, but the engineering and discoverability is what I'm selling.
I don't compete on price. If you're looking for a £500 website, I'm not the right person.

Who I am

I'm a senior architecture leader based in London. Twenty years across SAP, Salesforce, and cloud platforms. Most recently I built Meridian and CANVAS, AI-native enterprise platforms for an organisation that was paying tens of thousands of pounds a year for commercial software that turned out to be unnecessary.

FAQ

Do you only work with UK businesses?

Primarily, but not exclusively. I'm based in London and the majority of clients are UK-based. I work with overseas clients where the engagement fits (particularly EU and US) and have the time-zone flexibility to do so.

What if my industry isn't on your typical client list?

My typical clients are professional services SMBs: consultancies, advisories, boutique law and accountancy firms, specialist B2B services. The work translates well to most other knowledge-intensive industries (training providers, software consultancies, niche manufacturers). It translates less well to consumer retail, hospitality, or volume-discount-driven sectors.

Why is your pricing so much higher than [template platform / Fiverr / cheap freelancer]?

Because the deliverables are different. A £500 freelance website produces a working website. It does not produce a site that's findable in AI search, structured for ongoing authority, or built to a standard that supports the next five years of your marketing. If a basic website is what you need, the cheaper options are right for you. If a properly engineered website is what you need, the maths still favours this work.

Do you offer guarantees?

On the Audit tier (£499), if the report doesn't tell you anything useful that you didn't already know, I'll refund the engagement. On the implementation tiers, the deliverables are specific and verifiable. If the schema doesn't validate, the llms.txt isn't deployed correctly, or the FAQ markup is broken, that's my responsibility to fix at no charge. AI search citation improvements are dependent on factors outside any one party's control, so I don't guarantee specific citation outcomes.

Can I see examples of your work?

This site is itself an example, built on the same stack and to the same standards as any client engagement. The case studies at /blog/case-studies/ describe the systems I've built end-to-end in my day job. Client-specific examples can be discussed during the discovery call.

What technology stack do you use?

Eleventy (a modern static site generator) for the build, deployed on Cloudflare. Content authoring is in Markdown, which means you can edit posts later through any text editor or a browser-based CMS. The stack is deliberately simple and durable. Monthly hosting costs are usually under £20.
